Affinity is a support group created in May 2017 for families, friends and carers who care for a child (or children) who have had a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or on their pathway to getting a diagnosis. We are under the charity Unite Carers - Mid Devon and offer non-judgemental support and advice.
Some of the trickiest times of the year are holidays and not because of the dreaded feeling of 'how am I going to entrain my children for that length of time?!' or 'how on earth am I going to be able to get the child to leave the house?!'. Its the change of routine, after we just got use to the previous one, the tiredness and uncertainties of what is going on.
We hold our Holiday clubs throughout the year, as much as we can to give the family a safe environment to explore, that your child will grow to remember and love.
I would like to say a massive thank you to Heathcoat Primary School for letting us use their community room and grounds, its a beautiful enclosed safe environment with parking available through the main school gates. Come along for some festival fun!
