Affinity and Beyond - Open Minds

About the Event
Affinity's Holiday Club; A workshop with Open Minds by Helen.
Open Minds Devon is an early intervention service supporting the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children and adults.
Affinity is a support group created in May 2017 for families, friends and carers who care for a child (or children) who have had a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or on their pathway to getting a diagnosis. We are under the charity Unite Carers - Mid Devon and offer non-judgemental support and advice.
Some of the trickiest times of the year are holidays and not because of the dreaded feeling of 'how am I going to entrain my children for that length of time?!' or 'how on earth am I going to be able to get the child to leave the house?!'. Its the change of routine, after we just got use to the previous one, the tiredness and uncertainties of what is going on.
We hold our Holiday clubs throughout the year, as much as we can to give the family a safe environment to explore, that your child will grow to remember and love.
After our ever so successful workshop in the summer 2017 with Helen, we have to opportunity to work with her again over Easter. Mindfulness can help you and your child feel more positive, more in control, calmer and more focused whilst building a toolkit to help you through tricky times. Fun, engaging practices using all the senses.
As normal drinks will be available; tea, coffee and squash, please feel free to bring anything else you might like to drink.
Make sure you bring some lunch for you and your little ones.
I would like to say a massive thank you to Heathcoat Primary School for letting us use their community room and grounds, its a beautiful enclosed safe environment with parking available through the main school gates.
